Yankees, World Champions!

After 9 innings the New York Yankees managed to get the win in Game 6 of the 2009 World Series against the Philadelphia Phillies. It can be said that it was a slow start for the Yankees, trailing their arch rival the Boston Red Sox for the first half of the season and then the steroids scandal involving A-Rod. Yet again we have the rising of players who later on the season became essential like Mark Teixeira and Mariano Rivera. Slowly but surely reaching the top and knocking off the Dodgers and obtaining the best record in the MLB. Yes people the Yankees did it again for the 27th time after 9 years they have reached glory in the baseball world. All we can hope for is that they enjoy their break and they do as well next season as they did this year. CONGRATS NEW YORK YANKEES!

And here is the World Series MVP, Hideki Matsui. Matsui went 3 for 4 with a home run, double, single and a single game-Series-game record-tying six RBI's as the Yankees closed the Phillies 7-3.
